Nicole Kidman shares a strict limit when it comes to filming kissing scenes.
During a recent interview “Las Culture Experts” podcast, the 58-year-old actress revealed that she “can’t stand bad breath” and called it a “deal breaker” for her when it comes to men. She noted: “You want me to help? It smells nice.”
“You can be such an amazing, amazing guy and you come to me with bad breath and I’m like, ‘No, no, no,'” she shared. “Is it like if I say, ‘Breathe on me’ and I have to back out? Wow. I’m out. I’m out. You can’t offer me enough money.”
“The taste and smell of your mouth is very important to me,” the “Babygirl” actress added.

She then shared an anecdote from when she shot intimate scenes with Alexander Skarsgård in the movie “Big Little Lies” and said that he invited her to eat a falafel sandwich on the set before filming a scene where they had to kiss.
“I said: ‘No, no, no, Alex. I want to kiss you and fall in love with you. Put down the falafel right now. Because bad breath doesn’t turn me on,'” she recalled. “‘No more falafel,’ I said. No. Not before kissing. Not before making love. No more falafel. ‘Put the falafel aside.'”
Kidman joked that she’s “sure she’ll never eat falafel again.”
Skarsgård and Kidman portrayed husband and wife on the hit HBO series, showcasing the patterns that can exist in abusive relationships. Kidman won a Critics’ Choice Award, an Emmy Award, and a Golden Globe Award for her work on the series, and in accepting these awards, she honored real-life victims of domestic violence.

“Sometimes when you’re acting you get the chance to send a bigger message: shedding light on domestic violence,” she said in her acceptance speech at the Emmys in 2017. “This is a complex, insidious disease that exists much more than we allow ourselves to know. It is filled with shame and secrecy, and the fact that you acknowledge me with this award sheds even more light on it. So thank you, thank you, thank you.”

During an interview with USA TodayKidman discussed the character’s motivation for becoming a medical doctor, noting that Scarpetta’s need to “have control over death” following the death of her father at a young age was something she could relate to.
“I almost understand this. I lost my father [in 2014] “And my main job was to find out why,” he explained. “I lost him suddenly to a heart attack, but I wanted to know why and it became an obsession. “So I understand why Kay chose to do this job because it gives her a sense of control over something that is completely uncontrollable.”
