Nicolle Wallace Says Trump Will Retaliate After Losing Joe Rogan, MTG’s ICE Deportation Support: ‘It’s Gonna Get Worse’

President Donald Trump’s mass deportation plan failed to get the stamp of approval from two leading MAGA voices, and according to MSNBC’s Nicole Wallace, the president will likely retaliate by saying “it’s going to get worse.”

On Monday, Wallace explained that ICE’s aggressive push into American cities across the country has proven unpopular even among Trump’s own fan base, pointing to prominent podcaster Joe Rogan’s take on the raids.

“The way it looks is terrible,” Rogan said on Thursday’s episode of “The Joe Rogan Experience.”

“When you arrest people who have been here for 20 years and just normal, ordinary people in front of their children, anyone in their right mind cannot deal with that,” he continued. “This can’t be the only way to do this.”

The comedian and podcaster agreed with the president’s calls that border control is an issue that needs to be addressed, but he failed to understand that people who have been in the country for 20 years without criminal records should be detained. He added that the “worst of the worst” that ICE targets should only be “terrorists” or cartel members.

“Come on, this is crazy,” he said. “Be very kind-hearted. Because if you don’t, you won’t be able to get anyone to your side.”

Wallace, the “Deadline: White House” anchor, joked that he “never thought he would say that,” but also agreed with Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s views on Tim Dillon’s podcast on the subject.

“As a conservative, a businessman, and a realist in the construction industry, we have to do something about labor, and that has to be a smarter plan than rounding up every single person and deporting them that way,” the Republican representative said. “From now on I live only in reality.”

“We’re not going to like Marjorie Taylor Greene and Joe Rogan, but if we could do this on our own, we wouldn’t be here,” Wallace replied.

This was a change of mindset for Greene and contrasted with her previous stance on Trump’s deportation policy.

Wallace spoke with MSNBC Senior National and Political Correspondent Jacob Soboroff, who reported that of the more than a thousand people arrested in Chicago, ICE only provided detailed information on 10 men with criminal histories (about 1%).

“We should point out that the administration is about to raise the volume even further,” he said. “Now they’re escalating what brought these two to transform their views on Trump and this policy. It’s going to get worse.”

Soboroff said the cruelty and brute force ICE uses when detaining people is “the real issue.” Videos circulating on social media are encouraged by ICE leadership, and members are creating their own videos.

“They are waking up to the fact that mass deportations mean separation of families by another name,” Soboroff said. “It’s actually being played on the streets all over the country now… They want this footage to be published.”

The reporter added that 70 percent of people currently in ICE custody do not have a criminal record. Watch the full exchange in the video below:
