Nigel Farage urges PM to appoint Reform peers to House of Lords
Reform called the UK leader Nigel Farage to allow him to appoint a peer to the House of Lords.
In a letter to Sir Keir Starmer, Farage said that he wanted “democratic inequality” in the upper room to be handled and that it was unfair to represent parties with less deputies.
The reform has four deputies in the House of Commons and controls ten councils in the UK, but they do not have peers.
Political appointments to the Lords are made depending on the discretion of the prime minister. Downing Street was approached for a comment.

In his letter, Farage said: “My party received more than 4.1 million votes in the general elections in July 2024. Since then, we have won a lot of chairs in local governments, we have managed the national opinion polls for months and we won the only election of this parliament.”
Farage added that he was in favor of reforming the lords, but was “time to appeal to democratic inequality that exists in the upper house”.
The Green Party, Ekose Cymru and Ulster Unionist Party (UUP) said that there are 13 reasons.
He also stated that the liberal democrats had less votes than reform in the previous election. Lib DEMS is currently holding 72 chairs in Commons and makes them the largest third party after labor and conservatives.
