Night-time traffic curbs at Eenchakkal for flyover construction

Thiruvananthapuram City Police has imposed traffic restrictions at Eenchakkal during night hours as part of the ongoing flyover construction work. Traffic regulations will be in force on Chakka-Thiruvallam Road between 23.00-05.00 from December 10 to 16.

During restricted hours, vehicular movement will not be allowed on NH-66 bypass from Thiruvallam to Poonthura and from Eenchakkal to Kumarichanta. Vehicles from Kovalam to Kazhakuttom have been advised to use the Thiruvallam-Ambalathara-Attakulangara-Statue-VJT-Pattoor-Chakka route to access the bypass. Traffic traveling in the opposite direction should proceed via Chakka service road, Pettah, Pattoor, Asan Square, Palayam, Statue, Attakulangara, Manacaud and Thiruvallam.

Vehicles approaching Kazhakoottam via Eenchakkal from the Killippalam-Power House road side have to divert via Choorakkattupalayam – Thampanoor – Panavila – Asan Square – Pattoor – Chakka or via Sreekandeswaram – Uppidamoodu – Pettah – Chakka to rejoin the bypass. Small vehicles heading to Thiruvananthapuram International Airport from Kovalam were directed to proceed towards Valiyathura-Shangumughom road via Kallumoodu and Ponnara Bridge using Kumarichanta-Paruthikuzhy service road.

Light motor vehicles, including cars, traveling from Attakulangara to Chakka should use the Vazhapally – Sreekandeswaram – Uppidamoodu – Naalumukku – Pettah – Chakka route.
