Uttar Pradesh: Banke Bihari’s treasury to be opened after 54 years on Dhanteras festival today in Mathura

While talking to ANI, Mathura Cicle Officer Sandeep Singh said: “With the facilitation of the Supreme Court committee members, various security measures have been taken, including reopening of the doors of the Temple treasury following the Supreme Court order, the entire process will be videotaped and the presence of fire brigade and forest department teams.”
“These measures are being taken because the treasury has been closed for a long time, and the situation has become uncertain. He also mentioned that a backpack-shaped fire extinguisher, which works by cutting off the oxygen to the fire, was also used,” he said.
Talking to ANI, Temple caretaker Ghanshyam Goswami said, “Banke Bihari’s treasury was opened after 54 years on Dhanteras. Those belonging to the High Powered Committee are allowed to enter the treasury. Apart from judicial and administrative officers, four candidates Goswami reserves this right…”
The Banke Bihari Temple treasury was last opened in 1971 under the supervision of the then temple committee chairman.
Dhanteras is dedicated to the worship of Siddhi Vinayak, another name for Lord Ganesha, the Goddess of wealth, Kuber with Mahalakshmi, the God of wealth and prosperity. It is considered an auspicious day for making new purchases. Dhanvantari, who is also worshiped on the occasion of Dhanteras, is considered the god of Ayurveda and is believed to impart lessons in medical practices to save humanity from diseases. The first day of Diwali began on Monday with Dhanteras marking the beginning of the festivities. The day is celebrated on the thirteenth lunar day of Krishna Paksha (dark fortnight) in the Hindu calendar month Aaswayuja of Vikram Sambat in the Amaavasyanta Luni-Solar Calendar.
