Asia-Pacific markets traded mixed on Friday after US stocks fell overnight as Nvidia shares fell despite a drop in quarterly earnings.

of japan Nikkei 225 Topix traded flat, falling 0.6%. The benchmark Japanese index hit 59,000 for the first time before rising slightly on Thursday.

South Korea’s Kospi index lost 1.1%, while the small-cap Kosdaq lost 0.35%.

Hong Kong Hang Seng index HSI’s last close was 26,381.02 while futures last traded at 26,391.

In the US, the S&P 500 retreated overnight after the latest results from tech giant Nvidia and software giant Salesforce failed to boost the market.

The broad market index closed at 6,908.86 points, down 0.54%, and the Nasdaq Composite closed at 22,878.38 points, down 1.18%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 17.05 points, or 0.03%, to 49,499.20.

Nvidia shares fell more than 5% even as the chip giant reported fourth-quarter earnings and revenue growth. The stock had its worst day since April. Other chip stocks such as Broadcom, Lam Research, Western Digital and Applied Materials also fell.
