Thief arrested, ₹4 lakh in cash recovered in Chitradurga

Molakalmur Police arrested a thief who distracted bank customers and siphoned off their money. Police seized cash amounting to Rs 4 lakh from the accused.

According to a statement issued by the Chitradurga Police, the 19-year-old accused has been identified as N. Surya alias Ganesh from Bhadravati Town.

Following reports of cases of money being stolen from people while returning from banks, Police Inspector Ranjitkumar Bandaru formed a team led by Molakalmur Police Sub-Inspector Mahesh Laxman Hospet under the guidance of Additional Police Inspector Shivakumar R., Deputy Police Inspector Satyanarayan Rao and Police Circle Inspector Nagaraj.

The team managed to catch the suspect. Now a manhunt has been launched to catch the accomplices of the accused.
