Maharashtra to Become 1st State Geo-Mapping Waqf Assets

Mumbai: Maharashtra will be the first state to apply the JEO mapping of all WAQF board assets in India-this is an ambitious attempt to increase transparency and productivity in the management of thousands of religious and charitable properties throughout the state.

The geographical mapping project will cover sub -units spread over 45,000 property and estimated over 92,000 acres. Authorities are expected to be presented within the next 15 days. The initiative is expected to increase the annual rent income of the Maharashtra State Foundation (MSBW) significantly from the current RS 8.5 Crore to about 50 RS.

After the project has been completed, the government will also be able to determine the number of fully raped vaygür properties throughout the state.

Foundation properties are personal beings donated by Muslims for religious or charity. These features are applied by muttawalis (caregivers) appointed by MSBW.

The State Government will invest 26.22 RS in the project given to M/S INNOWAVE IT infrastructure Limited. “The company will label Geo with detailed documents, including location, boundaries, fields, legal status, leasing conditions, rape and zoning,“ the company said.

Field research will be done to collect and verify this data. Authority also stated that the project will provide precise and current records by ensuring that the project will correctly determine and verify the total number of MSBW assets through detailed field questionnaires. The whole project is planned to be completed within four years and three months.

When contacting, Ruchesh Jaivanshi, the Secretary of the Minority Development Department, confirmed that the project is expected to significantly increase MSBW’s income. “We will explore the commercial potential of the property of the foundation and rent it in market rates. We expect to produce 50 crore a year through renting,” he said.

The presentation will start in Pune, Aurangabad and Mumbai and then extend to other regions.

Another official emphasized that digitalization will explicitly identify the legitimate assets of the Board, identify illegal professions and unauthorized constructions, and support the decision -based decision on property maintenance, dispute resolution, rental and development that will ensure compliance with the WAQF Law and MSBW regulations.
