Trump Makes Stunning Denial as Reporter Confronts Him Over Unhinged Letter in Dead-of-Night Gaggle
Minister Donald Trump He made a startling denial when confronted with the implausible letter blaming his failure to win the Nobel Prize for threatening to take over Greenland.
On Monday, we witnessed yet another surreal escalation in the Trump Nobel Peace Prize story. Just days after receiving the award from the recipient in 2025 Maria Corina MachadoTrump sent a letter to Norway complaining bitterly that he no longer felt “obliged to think only of Peace.”
From where? Because “Your country decided not to give me the Nobel Peace Prize for stopping 8 Wars PLUS.”
(The award is not given by the Kingdom of Norway and Trump “did not stop 8 wars PLUS.)
The president briefly joked with reporters just before midnight Monday after attending the college football championship game in Miami, during which he confronted reporters about the letter.
Despite lobbying relentlessly for the award and accepting an invented FIFA award instead, praising Machado’s award and centering a threatening international letter around it, Trump denied that he cared about the award:
REPORTER: Can you talk about your letter to the Prime Minister stating that the Nobel Prize influenced your thoughts about Greenland?
PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: No, I don’t care about the Nobel Prize.
First of all, a very nice woman thought I deserved it and really wanted me to receive the Nobel Prize. And I appreciate that.
If anyone thinks Norway doesn’t control the Nobel Prize! They’re just kidding. They have a board but it is controlled by Norway. I don’t care what Norway says.
But I don’t really care about that. What I care about is saving lives. And I think I saved tens of millions of lives.
If you look at India and Pakistan as one or two nuclear powers. You look at a lot of countries that have been in a 30, in some cases 35 year war, and I’ve made it through.
We have stopped eight wars and perhaps soon we will stop a ninth. We will see.
