Nintendo raises Switch 2 sales forecast to 19 million units

Nintendo’s upgraded its sales forecast for the Switch 2 console in the current fiscal year as momentum for its new flagship console builds.

The Japanese gaming giant said it expects to sell 19 million Switch units in the fiscal year ending March 2026, compared to a previous forecast of 15 million units.

Here’s how Nintendo performed according to LSEG estimates in its second fiscal quarter ending September 30:

  • Revenue: 527.2 billion Japanese yen ($3.7 billion), versus expectations of 461.76 billion yen.
  • Net profit: 102.9 billion Japanese yen versus expectations of 63.6 billion yen.

Nintendo is riding a wave of momentum after releasing its latest console, the Switch 2, in June.
