Starbucks renovating cafes to be more accessible
Like Starbucks The coffee chain, which renews US positions, is trying to meet its cafes throughout the more inclusive design.
As part of the wider effort to bring customers back, the company gave priority to make -up plans for approximately 1,000 locations by the end of 2026. Meanwhile, the big store will limit renovations and development.
Although the changes will vary depending on the location, wait for more seating, other adjustments that make dark wooden panels and cafes cozier. Renewals will also contain fine adjustments such as less hard lighting that will not affect customers with light sensitivity.
In a statement to CNBC, Dawn Clark, Vice President of Starbucks Coffee Design and Concepts, “We revive more than 1,000 coffeehouses throughout the next year, and blend our global heritage with local relevance level to create spaces that are immersive, inclusive and deep people.” He said.
“Palisades’ comfortable temperature, whether Manhattan’s urban energy, encourages deliberate design customers to stay longer, to make more connections and to return frequently and turn into a meaningful work effect.” He said.
Starbucks plans to spend about $ 150,000 for each “rise” without closing stores. The company began with places in New York, and then came to cafes in Southern California.
Makeoveovers aims to return the stores to the previous status as “third” for customers to hang out between home and work. In recent years, Starbucks has lost this reputation, which has been fed by decisions such as removing seats as it becomes popular and gets rid of sales points to determine.
Under CEO Brian Niccol, a chain plans to reversed most of these decisions while trying to break a drop of sales. For example, he said he planned to add 30,000 chairs to employees in June.
However, trying to address a wider customer field is not new for the company. Starbucks first introduced an accessible store design at the beginning of 2024 before Niccol’s term of office. At that time, the company said the design lasted about two years and contained input from barists.

Before the renovation, the location lacked many decorative touchs as well as large -scale photographs of the Coffee and Research Farm in Costa Rica.
With such sparse sitting, the concrete floors of the café were more open. Hard Lighting did not help the store appearance.
A large seating area now has more seats, also a gallery wall and less glare with lighting.

Starbucks also brought back the lost electrical sockets in previous makeup. Customers who want to work or work from the location can charge their laptops or phones and encourage them to stay longer.
Large area carpets bring a comfortable touch as well as reducing a portion of the café’s ambient noise. Live plants also contribute to the air of the area like home.
The position involves adding fine adjustments, adding high top tables and bar stools for more seating options.

Customers waiting to get their drinks can sit down. Previously, the area was an unreachable standing bar for wheelchair users.
In addition to adding carpets, Starbucks has developed the general insulation of the position to reduce the oyster of a busy coffee shop. The change for baristas means that the conversations between customers hear an order correctly or focusing on a latte, which is less likely to disturb their jobs.
