Trump unveils renovated Lincoln Bathroom at the White House – with views of his East Wing demolition

Donald Trump unveiled the renovated Lincoln Bath at the White House; This bathroom features insights into its controversial demolition of the East Wing.
The president released before and after photos of the renovation of the bathroom adjacent to one of the White House’s most famous rooms.
Trump wrote of Truth Social: ‘It was renovated in the 1940s in an art deco green tile style, which was completely unsuitable for the Lincoln Era.
‘I made this with black and white polished sculptural marble. This was very appropriate to Abraham Lincoln’s time and may actually be the marble found there!’
The bathroom connects to the Lincoln Bedroom, which is part of the guest suite on the second floor of the White House. It was used as the former president’s office and Cabinet Room, and became the Lincoln Bedroom during Harry Truman’s renovation.
The new bathroom features a large tub table and separate indoor shower with gold faucets, handrails, soap dispensers, clothes rails, and warmly glowing lamps on shiny marble walls and floors.
The previous design was sparser; the walls had green tiles, cool strip lighting, and stainless steel to which Trump has now added gold.
One photo showed a view from the window where construction workers could be seen demolishing the East Wing to make way for the president’s privately financed new $300 million ballroom.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt proudly announced the latest gilded upgrade, which comes after Trump renovated the Rose Garden in the Oval Office and added a ‘Presidential Walk of Fame’ to the West Wing.
He wrote to X: ‘I was horrified when I first learned there was a toilet like this inside the White House. President Trump is making the People’s House more elegant and beautiful for future generations of Americans!’
The Lincoln Bedroom is used to host official and personal guests, including world leaders and celebrities.
This statement came after the White House announced that tours will resume on December 2 after being suspended for months due to ballroom construction.
The East Wing was once part of the tour but was demolished as part of the project.
The White House announced that it will now offer ‘an updated route that offers guests the opportunity to experience the history and beauty of the People’s House.’
To celebrate the holidays, December tours include Christmas decorations on the State Floor curated by First Lady Melania Trump.
Congressional offices can begin sending tour requests to their constituents on Monday. Such requests have been suspended since the summer for ballroom construction.
The opening of the new bathroom comes amid outrage over the demolition of the East Wing, the 83-year-old annex of the White House mansion that housed the First Lady’s offices.
The White House was initially cautious about what the plans were for the East Wing, offering suggestions that part of the structure would remain intact.
Announcing the ballroom earlier this year, Trump claimed: ‘It will not interfere with the existing building. ‘It will be close to it but not touching it and will fully respect the existing building, which I am the biggest fan of.’
The new bathroom features an enclosed shower with floor-to-ceiling marble and gold accents.

Shelves are built into marble walls to provide a minimalist look.
But earlier this month, while hosting ballroom donors for a dinner in the East Room, the President appeared to say the quiet part out loud.
Trump opened the golden curtains behind him to reveal the construction site.
‘It will be demolished,’ he said. ‘Everything outside is being torn down and will be replaced by the most beautiful ballroom.’
Some former employees of Republican First Lady Pat Nixon had written a letter to the National Capital Planning Commission (NCPC) to stop the project.
But Trump had already appointed Executive Secretary Will Scharf to lead the NCPC; Scharf tasked the D.C.-area federal construction agency with overseeing construction only, not demolitions.
Democrats see a political opening for the project, which comes amid a government shutdown that leaves federal workers without pay.
“I really think the footage of them destroying the East Wing of the White House could be a game changer in the election,” former Biden White House official Neera Tanden wrote to X on Wednesday.
It included polling data showing Democratic Virginia gubernatorial candidate Abigail Spanberger beating Republican Lieutenant Governor Winsome Earle-Sears by 13 points.
Even conservative Washington Examiner columnist Byron York gave the White House some grief for the lack of transparency.
‘The President now needs to tell the public what he is doing in the East Wing of the White House. “And then tell the public why you didn’t tell them before you started doing this,” York wrote to X on Tuesday night.
The White House made an offer responded angrily to the outcry, issuing a press release criticizing “deranged leftists and their Fake News allies” for creating “manufactured outrage” over the destruction of the East Wing.
The press release included historical photographs showing previous demolition and construction projects at the White House dating back to 1902.
