No arrests, injuries during Dodger celebrations across streets of LA, police say

The Los Angeles Police Department said no one was arrested or injured Saturday night as Dodger fans took to the streets across the city to celebrate the World Series victory, but the taggers left their mark.

Some businesses, driverless vehicles and subway buses were destroyed in Echo Park.

A large crowd of Dodger fans celebrated the team’s World Series victory by taking over an intersection for a sideshow in Pacoima.

LAPD officers issued a dispersal order at an intersection there, while a crowd of fans took over the intersection, waving Dodger flags and shooting fireworks into the air.

Some of the officers patrolled the streets on horseback and people were told to leave the area.

In Pacoima, video from AIR7 showed cars performing donut maneuvers at an intersection where spectators set off fireworks.

The LAPD activated Tactical Alert around 6 p.m. Saturday in preparation for celebrations that could close down area streets in hopes of keeping the crowds under control.

As the crowd grew, LAPD issued a dispersal order to Chick Hearn Court and 11th Street, as well as Sunset Boulevard and Echo Park Avenue.

City News Service contributed to this report.
