Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) general secretary Premallatha Vijayakant on Friday said that no political formation can rule Tamil Nadu without the support of her party.
addressing the party Makkal Urimai Meetpu Maanadu 2.0 At Paasar near Veppur, he emphasized that alliance decisions would depend solely on the approval of the cadres. Ms. Premallatha said that the alliance in which DMDK has joined will achieve victory. “I decided on the alliance after consulting the district secretaries. They told me their views only. I have already decided on the alliance partner,” he added. He added that DMDK transcended caste, religion and language and positioned victory as the future of the team.
Addressing the meeting, DMDK youth wing leader Vijay Prabhakaran asserted that the party’s support will be indispensable for a successful electoral alliance in Tamil Nadu. He said that both major parties in Tamil Nadu need DMDK’s support and the alliance in which DMDK joins will be a mega alliance.
DMDK is not just a political organization but a “family” legacy established by late Vijayakant, who took public service to new heights.
Claiming to have secured votes equivalent to Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, Mr. Prabhakaran said he had no regrets about being excluded from the list of emerging youth leaders. He also advised TVK president Vijay not to join the Congress alliance which is backing the release of his upcoming film.
“Don’t trust the Congress that supports it” Jana Nayagan“I know what they are doing in Virudhunagar during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections,” he told Mr. Vijay.
