No suspect yet in apparent abduction of Savannah Guthrie’s mother | Arizona

Authorities in Arizona still have not identified a suspect in the investigation into the kidnapping of Nancy Guthrie, the elderly mother of Today show host Savannah Guthrie.

“At this point, investigators have not identified a suspect or person of interest in this case,” the department wrote. “Detectives continue to speak with anyone who may have come into contact with Ms. Guthrie.”
The statement said: “While we appreciate the public’s concern, sharing unsubstantiated accusations or false information is irresponsible and does not assist the investigation.”
Nancy Guthrie, 84, was reported missing Sunday after a family member received a call from a member of her church saying she wasn’t there. After searching for Guthrie at his home near Tucson, family members reported him missing to local authorities. It is believed he was last seen around 9.30pm on Saturday night.
Monday evening by Savannah Guthrie sent On Instagram, she asks people to pray for her mother’s safe return. “Thank you for raising your prayers with ours for our beloved mother, dear Nancy, a woman of deep faith, a good and faithful servant,” he wrote. “Raise your prayers with us and believe with us that it will be lifted by them right now. We need you.”
Arizona law enforcement previously said they believed Guthrie was taken from his home against his will. “His mobility is very limited, we know he didn’t just walk out of there,” Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said. “There were other things at the scene that indicated he did not leave on his own.”

Savannah Guthrie, who has co-hosted NBC’s Today show since 2012, canceled plans to travel to Milan to watch the Olympic opening ceremony. He is currently in Arizona with his family.
