Santa Claus and his reindeer have left the North Pole as they embark on an epic global mission to deliver gifts to children around the world.
Anyone who wants to follow St Nick’s sleigh or wonder when to leave out the mince pies and carrots can follow his movements with the annual NORAD Santa Tracker.
NORAD, also known as the North American Aerospace Defense Command, has been tracking Santa for the past 70 years using advanced radar and satellite technology.

Speed up, Santa!
Santa Claus has been crossing the Pacific Ocean for a very long time.
I think it’s a very large body of water.
But miraculously, the number of gifts he offers continues to grow as he approaches 800 million, and the world’s largest and deepest ocean poses no obstacle to his festive efforts.
It’s a Christmas miracle!
Do you say Santa Claus or MY FATHER CHRISTMAS?
According to English Heritage, ‘Father Christmas’ began as a strictly allegorical figure; He is often depicted as a jolly old man and has a history dating back to the 15th century.
Long before the symbol appeared in England, a separate legend of Sinterklaas was gaining ground in Europe, with its origins in the stories of St Nicholas.
Later North America transformed him into ‘Santa Claus’.
My vote is for Santa Claus, but have your say in the comments below.

Year 2022: A dark year for Santa followers
2022 was a dark year for Santa followers.
The massacre ensued as the entire system collapsed for a moment.
It was never entirely clear why the Santa tracker fell off. This could be due to the number of people trying to use the site or the severe storm that hit the US overnight.
That dark day saw a snowstorm across much of the country, causing power outages, accidents, and long travel delays.
Because the Norad tracker is connected to US satellites, damage to communications lines on US soil may have delayed engineers desperately working to reunite Santa with his fans.
But still, after a few minutes, everything returned to normal.
Will Santa make it to Britain as Keir Starmer promises to ‘stop the boats’?
With Keir Starmer promising to ‘stop the boats’, will Santa really make it to Britain?
Chances are, yes; because the Prime Minister’s plans are in shambles so far.
The latest Home Office figures showed some 803 people made the perilous journey across the Channel on 13 boats from northern France from Friday night to Saturday.
The total number of Channel crossings in 2025 was 41,455 people. The annual record is 45,755 recorded at the end of 2022.
Looks like those who come by sled will enjoy it more…
When will Santa Claus come to your house?
As NORAD follows Santa Claus, only the man himself knows his route; That means experts can’t predict when he’ll visit your home on Christmas Eve.
However, NORAD notes that Santa Claus only comes when children are asleep, and most of his visits occur between 9 p.m. and midnight.
If he is awake when the children arrive, he can go to other houses and return only when they are asleep.
