FIRST ON FOX: A leading parental rights organization has sent a “Watch Out” alert urging parents to be wary of the two top teachers unions in the United States, revealing they are “prioritizing radical agendas” at the “expense of educational outcomes.”

warningHe points to a report from the American Parents Coalition that targeted the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) and the National Education Association (NEA) and found that unions have “invested hundreds of millions of dollars in woke organizations,” in addition to concerns that student outcomes are not a priority.

The APC warning hits the NEA and AFT for citing a variety of far-left causes, including boycotts supporting DEI, legal and activist campaigns against the Trump administration, condemning a Supreme Court decision that “allows parents to keep their children away from age-inappropriate and one-sided LGBTQ+ content,” and climate activism.

“Teachers unions were founded to support educators and improve classroom instruction. Instead, they have evolved into radical political organizations that use their influence to push far-left ideology rather than prioritizing students’ academic success,” APC Executive Director Alleigh Marré said in a statement to Fox News Digital.

“Parents should be aware of the outsized influence these unions have on their child’s school, as these organizations may be pushing policies that erode parents’ trust and do nothing to advance the child’s education. While teachers’ unions funnel millions of dollars each year to campaigns and activist causes that almost entirely favor Democrats, students are falling further and further behind in basic subjects. Families expect schools to teach reading, writing, and math, not political slogans. Teachers unions must now prioritize academic instruction, restore transparency, and educate children to prepare them for success, not indoctrination.” Refocus on your purpose.”

The warning also focused on the NEA 2025 Handbook, which the APC claimed “reveals the organisation’s radical beliefs” and “attacks home education”.

“The manual announced the use of: preferred nouns and pronouns as “extremely important” blame The APC’s warning states that “white supremacy culture” is “the root cause of institutional racism.”

Fox News Digital has reached out to the NEA and AFT for comment.

The alert also provided templates for parents to formally complain and call on local school administrators to take action by prioritizing student performance.

“Parents have the right to know what their children are being taught, to approve sensitive content, to see who is influencing the classroom, and to hold decision-makers accountable,” the report states.

“It is time to take back parental authority and demand that teachers unions focus on academic achievement, not divisive ideologies.”
