Nick Cannon slams Democrats as ‘party of the KKK’ as he gushes: ‘I f*** with Trump’ to Amber Rose

Nick Cannon accused Democrats of being the ‘party of the KKK’ and praised Republicans for ‘freeing the slaves’ in his interview with Amber Rose.

He also had warm words for Donald Trump, shouting: ‘The son of a bitch is cleaning house!’ and laughingly added: ‘I’m making love to Trump.’

The 45-year-old comedian made the statement while hosting outspoken Republican Rose, 42, on an episode of his web series Big Drive.

Rose, Kanye West’s ex-girlfriend who was an extra in the Los Angeles chapter of the feminist SlutWalk marches, has turned to conservatism in recent years and spoke at the 2024 Republican National Convention.

Meanwhile, Cannon declared that although he criticized Democrats and complimented Republicans, he was not aligned with any party.

He invoked a quote from WEB Du Bois, the famous black intellectual who abstained from the 1956 presidential election on the grounds that “two evils” did not exist. There is only one evil party with two names, and it will be elected despite everything I can do and say.’

Rose described himself as ‘ex-Democrat, ex-liberal’ and noted that he has evolved politically. ‘I’ve been a liberal Democrat all my life.’

Cannon, who was formerly married to Mariah Carey, slyly asked if Rose had switched parties because she was making enough money to join the ‘elite’.

Rose denied this and said she crossed the aisle because ‘Democrats don’t care about black people and they don’t care about black people and Republicans do and that’s a misconception.’

“I agree with you 100 percent,” Cannon said. ‘People don’t know that the Democrats are the party of the KKK. People don’t know that the Republicans were the party that freed the slaves. I mean, both you and I have some conservative views. You’re a little more upfront about this than I am.’

Cannon was referring to the fact that the Democratic Party controlled the American South during the antebellum era, when slavery was a hot topic, as well as during the post-Civil War era of racial segregation.

The Ku Klux Klan was founded in the immediate aftermath of the war by six Confederate veterans, one of whom spoke at the 1968 Democratic National Convention, and became the paramilitary wing of the apartheid apparatus imposed by Southern Democrats.

In 1937, incumbent Democratic president Franklin D. Roosevelt appointed former Klansman Hugo Black to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Meanwhile, the Republican Party was founded in the 1850s with an anti-slavery platform, and the first president it seated was Abraham Lincoln, who waged the Civil War that resulted in the emancipation of slaves.

While speaking to Rose on the web series, Cannon admitted: ‘To be honest, I don’t subscribe to either side. I admired WEB Du Bois when he said there was no such thing as two parties. There is only one evil party with two different names.’

He was referring to Du Bois’s 1956 essay Why I Won’t Vote, published weeks before the presidential election between Republican incumbent Dwight D Eisenhower and his Democratic challenger Adlai Stevenson.

Stating that he had voted for ‘the lesser of two evils’ in the past, 88-year-old Du Bois said: ‘I will not go to the polls in 1956. ‘I didn’t sign up.’

He added: ‘I believe that democracy has by now disappeared in the United States and that the “two evils” do not exist. There is only one evil party with two names and it will be elected no matter what I do or say. ‘There is no third party.’

Du Bois argued that any ‘third party movement’ with the goal of ‘significant reform’ would ‘necessarily be communist’ and thus put its adherents at risk of unemployment, loss of ‘social status’ or imprisonment.

Rose responded to Du Bois’s reference: ‘I am not married to any party. ‘I voted for Donald Trump because we had two options and he was definitely the better option for us by far and as of right now I agree with a lot of the things he’s done.’

‘The son of a bitch is cleaning his house!’ said Cannon, roaring with laughter. ‘He does what he says he will do. ‘We now have the Gulf of America.’

Cannon, who has 12 children with six women, joked: ‘It’s like that club. It charges a $5 million bottle service fee to enter the country. ‘I made fun of Trump.’
