Not so Saint-like! Non-league mascot Sammy the Saint appears to be THROWN OUT of his side’s FA Cup clash after falling over an advertising hoarding and stumbling along the touchline

A non-league mascot was ejected from his team’s game after rolling over a billboard on Saturday.
St. Sammy, the mascot of seventh-tier side St Albans City, looked uneasy ahead of the game as he gathered the crowd for the FA Cup match at Burton Albion.

He then stumbles along the front of the stand, appearing to swing from side to side, narrowly avoiding another embarrassing fall.
Sammy was subsequently removed from the Pirelli Stadium before the match started. Flanked by security guards on both sides, the mascot continued to wave his hands in the air at the fans as they walked out onto the road.
St Albans’ chances in the first round FA Cup clash were ultimately no better than those of their mascots as the Saints suffered an embarrassing 6-0 defeat at League One Burton.

But Sammy was later seen being thrown out by security guards ahead of kick-off.
The losers started the match very promisingly and were trailing 1-0 at halftime to a team that was three leagues ahead of them.
But things went wrong after the break and Burton fired another five shots past the Albans goalkeeper to seal a convincing victory.
Daily Mail Sport has contacted St Albans City for comment on St. Sammy.
Yesterday, non-league teams Boreham Wood, Brackley, Carlisle and Gateshead secured their place in the second round of the FA Cup by beating their EFL rivals.
Brackley beat League Two outfit Notts County 4-3 on penalties after a 2-2 draw at home, Carlisle dispatched League One Reading and Gateshead defeated Wimbledon in south-west London. Meanwhile, Boreham Wood defeated League Two Crawley Town 3-0.
