US President Donald Trump said he had an MRI during his recent visit to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, but refused to provide details about the reason for the scan.
These comments mark the first time Trump, 79, has made a statement about his second medical examination this year.
The Oct. 10 visit, described by the White House as a routine annual checkup, came just six months after a comprehensive physical examination, raising questions about the president’s health.
“I did it. I had an MRI. It was perfect,” Trump told reporters as he flew to Tokyo.

But Trump did not say why he got the scan and told reporters traveling with him to “ask the doctors.”
The White House did not immediately respond to questions.
“Trump remains in exceptional health, demonstrating strong cardiovascular, pulmonary, neurological and physical performance,” Trump’s physician, Sean Barbabella, said in a memo released after the visit.
The evaluation helps prepare for Trump’s upcoming trips abroad and includes advanced imaging, laboratory tests and preventative health evaluations, the doctor said in the memo.
