Oil tops $87 a barrel after brief price dip

Oil prices rose to their highest levels in months on Monday as Iran and Israel stepped up attacks in the Middle East, disrupting shipments from the region.

Oil prices rose on Friday morning, erasing earlier declines that boosted confidence in international stock markets.
As of 05:00, global benchmark Brent crude futures were traded at $87.34 per barrel, up 2.3%, while West Texas Intermediate crude futures were traded at $84.64 per barrel, up 4.5%.
