Hyderabad’s old city turns festive as Balapur Ganesh passes through

Hyderabad’s Old City, Balapur Ganesh regiment was revived on Saturday, September 6, 2025, while passing through narrow strips and iconic ground signs. Drums, cheers and crustaceans filled the air, the big idol at 14.30 passed Charminar and pulled the curious audience to balconies and shops.

The great show, known to marked the final of the Ganesh festivals, moved steadily before stopping at the Mahatma Gandhi bus station (MGBS). While the pause allows a few small idols to pass through nearby places, the police coordinated the movements to clean the way for the Marshals to continue towards the tank Bund for larger convoy.

Residents listed the streets, many of them saved the memory on their phones, while others offered coconuts and flowers. Most of the time, the roads drowned in traffic turned into an open scene because it was moved forward with music, color and passion.

The security arrangements were strict by Haydarabad police, the personnel were deployed between important intersections and crowded control measures and the procession enabled it to be opened without incident. There were barricades, the drone supervision took a look, and traffic deviations allowed the flow to remain largely unobstructed.
