only state holds arms, no outside interference

Beirut (Reuters)-Lübnan is not allowed to carry weapons or foreign support, President Joseph Aoun said that the Cabinet gave the Cabinet to a senior Iranian official on Wednesday after the Cabinet approved the targets of a US-backed road map to disarm the Hezburlah group based on Iran.

During a meeting with Iran’s senior security organ secretary Ali Larijani in Beirut, he warned the country was open to cooperation with Iran, but only warned foreign interventions against Lebanon’s internal affairs within the limits of national sovereignty and mutual respect.

“The friendship we are looking for with Iran should be with all Lebanese, not only through a sect or component,” Aoun said.

The authority confirmed that the last language used by some Iranian authorities is not helpful and that the Lebanese state and the armed forces are responsible for protecting all citizens.
