A long-established aerospace engineering firm on Merseyside has collapsed. managementput things in Specialist manufacturer of precision components for the at-risk aircraft industry. North West Precision Limited, which has been operating since 1977, came into administration on 14 May 2026.

The High Court appointment covers company registered 08737213, which specializes in the production of air and spacecraft-related machinery. Administrators Steven Muncaster and Mike Dillon from Leonard Curtis have been appointed to the Birkenhead-based business. The firm operates from Unit 3a, Ebenezer Street, Rock Ferry Industrial Estate, Birkenhead, Merseyside CH42 1NH.

The company has built a reputation for high quality bespoke aerospace parts by employing skilled workers and advanced machinery. It has been serving major customers such as Airbus, BAE Systems and Hawker Beechcraft for over thirty years.

A British family business at its roots, the company began trading in 1977 with the aim of becoming a world-class precision manufacturer.

North West Precision occupies modern purpose-built factories with significant production and office space in Birkenhead, near Liverpool.

It was acquired by Arlington Aerospace in 2016 in a deal aimed at improving the efficiency of customers in the industry.

The business has previously faced difficulties when a related entity went into administration in 2010 before its assets were sold to form the current limited company in 2013.

Facing fears of another insolvency in 2023, threatening around 60 jobs, the company continued trading until the latest appointment.

Executives are currently evaluating the location and trying to find a buyer or capture value from the company’s assets and expertise in the competitive aviation supply chain.

The administration comes amid ongoing pressures on the UK aviation supply sector, including rising costs and fluctuating demand from major aircraft programmes.
