Orange County deputies investigate trauma incident in Apopka

A man in his 20s was transported to the hospital under trauma alert Tuesday following a major response from law enforcement in the Apopka neighborhood. Orange County Sheriff’s deputies and Fire Rescue personnel arrived at Palmetto Ridge Circle around noon.

Emergency response began around 11:35 a.m. Tuesday when deputies were called to a shooting. Law enforcement found the man and provided medical assistance before transporting him.

The Orange County Fire Department confirmed the trauma was transported shortly after arriving on scene. The man, who was in serious condition, was taken to hospital.

Authorities did not identify the victim or provide further updates on his medical condition.

The Sheriff’s Office maintained a significant presence in the residential area near Schopke Road throughout the afternoon. While investigators collected evidence from the scene, deputies used police tape to block off part of the street and separate several homes.

During the investigation, deputies interviewed neighbors and surrounding residents.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office described the case as an active and ongoing investigation.
