Oscar Piastri second on grid behind Charles Leclerc

Oscar Piastri will begin on the grill after capturing an unexpected polar position of Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc in the third quarter. Piastri’s closest title rival McLaren was third with Lando Norris, George Russell’s fourth place for Mercedes.

Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso and Lance Türkü ranked fifth and sixth, while Gabriel Bortoleto, the Brazilian rookie, will be the seventh for Sauber.
In an interview after the race, a confused Piastri seemed to be surprised by Ferraro’s unexpected tempo.
