Over 4.6 crore cases pending in lower courts, Centre tells Rajya Sabha

Union Law and Justice Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal told Rajya Sabha on Thursday, July 31, 2025, waiting for more than 4.6 Crore cases in various sub -courts in India.

The Minister, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam Deputy Kanimozhi Nvn Somu in a written answer to a question, 86,723 cases waiting in the Supreme Court, 63.29.222 cases waiting in various high courts in India.

The Minister said that the data on waiting for the lawsuits were taken from the national judicial data network.

Meghwal Rajya Sabha’da “According to information from the high courts, 865 Fast Track Courts 30.06.2025’te 21 state/union regions are functional,” he said.

While the Fast Track Courts are filed a lawsuit so far 76.57,175, 14,38,198 cases are currently waiting.

“According to the data found in Gram Nyayalaya (GN) portal, 5,39,200 cases were recorded in GNS from December 2020 to June 2025.
