P-plater arrested after fatal Hornsby crash involving pregnant woman
A 33-year-old woman who was eight months pregnant died after being hit by a car in Sydney’s northwest.
A 19-year-old driver with P plate was arrested in connection with the fatal accident.
Emergency services were called to the entrance of a car park in George Street, Hornsby, shortly after 8pm on Friday, following reports that a silver Kia station wagon had struck a pedestrian who was allegedly rear-ended by a white BMW with P-plates.

Police said the driver of the Kia slowed down to allow the pregnant woman to cross the street when the BMW allegedly rear-ended, pushing the Kia forward and hitting the woman.
It was stated that the woman, who was in a critical condition, was taken to Westmead Hospital. Later, she and her unborn baby died.
Both drivers of the Kia and BMW escaped uninjured. They were taken to Hornsby Hospital for mandatory testing. There were no passengers in either car.
Police arrested the 19-year-old man just before 1 a.m. on Saturday.
While the crime scene has been identified, the police investigation continues.
