Reports indicate that TTP chief Noor Wali Mehsud may have been specifically targeted in the attacks. It is feared that he will die.

On Pakistan-linked social media channels, “#Pakistan Air Force has just conducted a precision airstrike against the #Taliban terrorist organization in #Kabul, the capital of #Afghanistan. Pakistan is severely punishing the Taliban leadership tonight.”

Kabul residents described the night as chaotic. One of the residents said that unknown jets carried out attacks on multiple locations, and violent explosions woke people in the central and northern parts of the city.

Multiple reports confirmed that civilian homes were hit during airstrikes. Screenshots and posts circulating on social media claim that warplanes were seen over Kabul after the attacks.

Taliban-affiliated media channels have reportedly begun calling for retaliatory attacks, including suicide bombings, inside Pakistan.

Many analysts have warned that, if confirmed, these attacks would represent serious cross-border tensions between Pakistan and Taliban-controlled areas of Afghanistan.

“Many people are reporting PAK airstrikes. Heavy explosions were reported in the center and north of the city, many civilian houses were hit,” a resident said on X.

This appears to be the first instance of Pakistani airstrikes in Kabul and marks a new chapter in regional tensions.

The situation is still evolving as authorities in Kabul investigate the full impact of the attacks and assess potential casualties.
