Pakistani rapper Talha Anjum recently created a global sensation at her Nepal concert. Talha prioritized fans’ feelings. When a fan (presumably an Indian) presented him with the Indian flag during his performance, Talha not only accepted the tricolor with great respect, but also waved it high and wore it on his shoulder, giving a clear message of humanity, peace and brotherhood. The gesture received mixed reactions online. While some of the netizens praised the musical artists for promoting unity, another section, mostly from Pakistan, criticized the rapper for his move.

Talha Anjum trolled for respecting Indian flag
Talha’s clip from the Nepal concert went viral in a short time. Many netizens from Pakistan criticized him for ‘crossing the line’. One netizen wrote: “Money rules everything, if paid well it will lick Modi’s boots too, all Pakistani artists from Fawad to Mahira to Kodi ki Safedi Hania Amir are like this.” Another netizen wrote: “I never liked this chapri or her sasti shairi anyway.” A netizen harassed him and wrote: “Suar kestreams kam ho gaye hai isiliye.”

Talha noticed the online trolling and decided to give it back in style. The rapper expressed his thoughts to “I will never care about the media, warmongering governments and their propaganda. Urdu rap is limitless and will always remain so.”
Who is Talha Anjum?
Born and raised in Karachi, Talha Anjum is one of Pakistan’s most prominent hip hop voices. In 2012, he founded the Urdu rap duo Young Stunners with Talhah Yunus. They rose to fame with Burger-e-Karachi and eventually became household names in South Asian rap circles.
