Pakistan’s ‘Fake’ Amritsar Strikes Exposed: Satellite Imagery Debunks Operation Sindoor Disinformation | World News

In a desperate attempt to revive a failed narrative, Pakistan has once again taken to social media to spread misleading and unverified satellite images, falsely claiming attacks on Indian military installations in Punjab, including areas around Amritsar, during Operation Sindoor.

The claims currently amplified by Pakistan-based sources are not supported by facts.

Independent verification of the locations shown in these images confirmed that no destruction or damage was seen on the claimed targets. Indian military facilities mentioned in the dispatches remain intact; There are no explosion effects, structural damage or secondary effects that would be expected from an attack.

The timing of this disinformation effort raised serious questions. During the actual conflict in May, Pakistan was unable to produce any reliable satellite images to prove its claims. The sudden appearance of these images seven months later, without verifiable timestamps, satellite source details or corroboration, suggests an attempt to fabricate after-the-fact evidence rather than provide actual documentation.

This is not the first example of exaggerated claims linked to the conflict. During and immediately after the operation, Pakistani social media narratives included claims of fictitious “victory odds” and vague references to striking India’s strategic “center of gravity.” None of these claims are supported by independently verifiable data and have not gained credibility internationally.

Open source analysts reviewing the newly distributed images noted selective framing and the absence of indicators of damage such as craters, debris patterns, burn marks or infrastructure collapse. Comparative images of the same locations show no observable change, directly contradicting the strike narrative.

Despite these findings, misleading images continue to circulate, indicating a deliberate disinformation campaign rather than an analytical disagreement. Experts note that such tactics are often aimed at shaping perception within the country, compensating for a lack of verifiable success during actual hostilities, and attempting to create suspicion among less informed audiences abroad.

But the facts do not change. There is no credible evidence to support the claims that Pakistan carried out attacks on Indian military installations in Punjab during Operation Sindoor. The latest social media attack relies on unverified images and recycled propaganda that cannot withstand independent scrutiny.
