Palestinian women bear brunt of Gaza war while leading community resilience

Women in Gaza are based on displacement, losses and hunger, but continue to lead flexibility efforts through local organizations.
Palestinian women are among the most affected and affected groups in terms of loss of security and stability, but also in terms of increasing psychological, social and economic burdens as a result of Israel. Gaza War.
Thousands of women were forcibly displaced by the people of the Gaza Strip in the midst of the harsh conditions that have been folded for years and with the increase in the ongoing war since October 2023. They act among shelters or temporary places that lack the most basic needs of life.
These women are obliged to be with a systematic hunger policy as a systematic hunger policy as an integrated food safety stage classification, concern about an ambiguous future and the education, health and social future of their families ((IPC), A global hunger monitoring system with the United Nations, Reported last month.
Many of them lost their husbands or a member of their families or their expanded relatives. Some have been the only winners for their families in the midst of the paralysis of infrastructure and institutions since the war in the Gaza Strip broke out. October 2023.
However, in response to the destruction of all civil society, local NGOs such as Palestinian NGOs (Palestinian NGOs (PngosIncluding Society Voice Foundation (SVFGaza Strip -based) emerged to help women in the current human crisis. These independent local NGOs worked carefully to provide comprehensive support to women and adolescent girls and created a safe space for them in the midst of rubble and fear.
For example, SVF is actively actively available in all displacement areas, especially in its central and southern governors. Since the early days of the war, local NGOs such as PNGOs and SVF have adopted a holistic approach despite the foreign aid, which aims to support women and adolescent girls psychologically, socially and morally. They believe that strengthening women is a basic step to rebuild society.
SVF performed a series of groups and individual psychosocial support sessions that play an important role in alleviating anxiety and trauma among women, especially in shelters and extreme crowded areas.
The sessions not only aimed to be released emotional, but also included awareness programs about how to deal with children during crisis times, psychological flexibility mechanisms and self -protection methods. This is the Second World War and Nakba For Palestinians.
Witnesses of shared displacement from the heart, as 36 -year -old Iman said, the stories of women with which in -depth pain and experience reflect experience:
“I have lost my sense of security since the war began and I could not sleep, but after participating in psychological support and awareness sessions during the year 2024, I started to regain my balance and feel that I was not alone.”
Iman added that he developed his skills and is now voluntary in the women’s center. The mobilization and organization of women’s meetings include, documenting stories in the fields of displaced people and suffering. However, this sense of flexibility can be broken at various times as the war continues.
The efforts of PNGO and SVF, which focused on strengthening by raising sounds, were not limited to their psychological aspect. In addition, despite the loss of hope, he tried to improve women’s skills and strengthen their skills and strengthen their skills by organizing short education workshops on life skills, crisis management and leading community initiatives.
17 -year -old Nada lost his home and school in Zeitouun region and found himself living in the Unwa shelter:
Im I felt my life was over. But I gave me hope to participate in local activities, and I learned how to confront my reality without disintegration. ”
Many young women have started to organize initiatives in displacement camps aimed at providing support to children and organizing entertainment and educational activities in an environment deprived of children’s foundations.
One of the most important results of these programs is that SVF can reclaim confidence in many women’s talents and give power to bring changes in their communities even in the mid -war.
24 -year -old Heba, who was destroyed in the city of Al Zahraa in the south of Gaza, works with SVF’s team in the field of media and awareness and said:
“War has shattered my dreams and ambition to complete my master’s degree, but I will continue to reach my goals despite all the difficulties.”
The voices that were once silenced with pain, the participating young women have become heard by attempts, dialogue meetings and stories that document their experiences of flexibility and determination despite distress. SVF also organized organized training meetings on women’s rights during the publication of women’s participation in public opinion discussions and during the conflict period of conflict. These efforts aim to increase women’s role in community dialogue and emphasize their problems. MOTHERS AND NEWSHINGS Those at the most risk without malnutrition.
Despite the tremendous difficulties, local NGOs, SVF and activists stressed the importance of continuing to support displaced women:
- Psychosocial support sessions in all shelters and host communities;
- Expanding economic strengthening programs to create opportunities for women and adolescent girls to confront poverty and increasing unemployment;
- If the war can stop one day, to increase women’s participation in community decision -making; And
- In particular, to offer programs for adolescent girls who leave school through informal learning or alternative education.
However, during this war, the Palestinian women in Gaza have proved not only the victim, but they were flexible change agents despite the bombing, displacement and destruction. Through ongoing activities, many NGOs, including SVF, placed women at the center of attention, opened windows for them, struggling for a better future.
