Elderly woman seeks Collector’s help in transferring late husband’s land ownership during grievance programme

Annoyed over the alleged delay in registering her late husband’s agricultural land in her name, an elderly woman from Porandla village in Thimmapur mandal knocked on the door of the district administration here on Monday.
The woman, identified as K. Lakshmi, submitted her petition to Collector Chitra Mishra during the weekly grievance redressal meeting Prajavani held at the Collectorate on Monday.
In his petition, he claimed that his late wife Raji Reddy’s application for transfer of 3.5 acres of agricultural land in his name was pending with the concerned authorities for a long time.
He regretted that his application remained unresolved despite visiting the mandate Tahsildar’s office many times.
According to sources, while seeking intervention to redress his grievance, he suddenly tried to touch the Collector’s feet.
The collector reportedly asked the authorities concerned to resolve his complaint immediately.
Sources added that around 225 petitions were received during the weekly grievance redressal meeting held on Monday.
