‘Panic’: Camera films armed intruder creeping about Perth home while family slept

Horrifying images of the armed attacker who sneaked into the house while the family was sleeping emerged.
Perth mother Huong checked her security view from inside her home after several items went missing last week.
The mother panicked when the footage revealed that an armed man was inside the house and allegedly stole a phone, then returned to get the bag.

Huong told 7News she was “scared” and “panicked” when she saw the footage because she had no idea when the man entered the room after she fell asleep.
“If I had woken up, maybe he could have attacked me, thank God I’m still here… because in the video I see he has a hammer in his hand,” he said.
Police allege the man broke into the house on Illawarra Crescent, Ballajura, at around 2.25am on November 13 and stole various items, armed with a plastic hammer during the attack.

Midland detectives have since charged a 53-year-old Baldivis man with four felonies related to aggravated burglary and burglary, as well as other incidents.
The man appeared in court on Friday and was taken into custody.
He will appear in the Perth Magistrates Court on December 16.
