Major motorway to be close throughout night after serious crash | UK | News

Traffic was thrown into chaos on the M1 motorway; Three accidents blocked the main road and caused delays for motorists.

The M1 motorway in South Yorkshire was initially closed to southbound traffic between J33 (Rotherham) and J32 (M18) following a single vehicle collision shortly before 6pm.

In the second collision at the entrance to the J33 junction, traffic was further disrupted and the lane was closed to the already congested traffic.

To make traffic problems worse, a third crash on the northbound lanes of the M1 led to road closures between junctions J19 and J20.
