South Park writer buys ‘Trump Kennedy Center’ domain name | Donald Trump

Donald Trump may be turning the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts into a self-reflective pool, but a writer for the TV series South Park, who reflects the administration’s obsessions and tendencies better than any political pundit, has bought the rights to it. trumpkennedycenter.org.
Toby Morton, a TV writer and producer who worked on the long-running and entertainingly offensive sitcom, said he bought the space in August after anticipating that the president would change the name from the Kennedy Center to the Trump Kennedy Center after establishing himself as chairman and filling the board with loyalists.
The name change caused turmoil at the institution, and many artists abruptly withdrew from planned concerts in protest. The name change is being challenged in the courts.
In an email to the New York Times, Morton said that for the past five years he has been “taking over spaces tied to politicians and authoritarian figures and turning them into clear and often disturbing reflections of what they actually represent.”
“I have been doing this kind of work for years; I am building sites that mirror and expose the political power, using its own language,” he added.
Visitors to trumpkennedycenter.org find not a program for the center’s program of classical music, jazz, theater and ballet, but an announcement for a show by the “Epstein dancers.”
“Beginning January 2026, TrumpKennedyCenter.org enters a new era of commitment, unity, and delegated authority,” a message on the website says. “We exist to protect what must endure, to honor what should not be questioned, and to bring together those who understand that greatness is not chosen, it is recognized.”
real website, kennedy-center.orgIt is identified as “Trump Kennedy Center” but its web address is not changed.
Morton isn’t the only one looking to have fun. A group of British satirists bought trump-kennedycenter.org at about the same time he promotes his own brand of deranged comedic misinformation.
The website advertises “Saucy Jeff – a Rock’n’Roll Musical” and calls it “a new adaptation of the St Hubbins/Smalls-penned rock opera Saucy Jack.” [which] “It brings this musical about friendship and sex crimes up to date in the new location of Little Saint James, starring Jeffrey Epstein as the protagonist.”
Comedy has often proven to be a better combatant against political madness than anger. South Park made its comedy bones by parodying the excesses of woke culture.
But during Trump’s second term, recent episodes have moved on to a parody of Trump expecting a baby with a cartoon Satan thinking the new White House ballroom will be a nursery.
South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker declared last year that a Trump administration was inevitable. “This is not a purely political issue.” Parker told the New York Times. “The transformation of politics into popular culture.”
Morton told the press that Trump Kennedy’s view of the center’s name change was that it was an art in itself; perhaps in the same way that Lenin’s tomb in Red Square is better than any installation art could hope for.
“It’s almost a performance art in itself,” Morton told the outlet. “The irony that someone who has openly mocked artists, ignored culture, and shown nothing but disdain for art, now positions himself as their representative is breathtaking.”
