Kevin Durant’s advice for NBA rookie who wants to follow his footsteps

Kevin Durant has changed a lot in the NBA since entering a 19 -year -old league in 2007. After an Offseason trade for Houston Rockets, a lot has changed for the 36 -year -old Durant, who entered the fifth season in his fifth season.
During this period, Durant and business partner Rich Kleiman invested in everything from leagues and media companies to Bitcoin and television and film projects and built one of the most dynamic investment portfolios throughout the sports.
So, what is Durant’s advice to young players who want to follow the footprints in the NBA?
At the CNBC’s Andrew Ross Sorkin’s CNBC Sport and Boardroom’s game plan conference on Tuesday, Durant said, “Create your game to be the best you can be and the NBA Finals, Playoffs and five, six million people watching every night, then you are then, then you are.
Durant, “Try to change your personality. Don’t try too much. Be exactly who you are, show your game, and then people will be withdrawn towards you, Dur Durant said.
This approach was one of the largest scorers of the league for twice for the NBA champion and the Olympic Gold Medal Durant four times.
Durant, “I was addressing the basketball community, and it just goes out and plays my game.” He said. “I felt my game talking for him … I’ve always felt like the NBA platform full of billions of people, and that’s the second most watched sport in the world, the only thing I need.”
Durant, the NBA as a league platform, “probably why I’m very sure to move around the league, so much, I feel that I can do it anywhere,” he said.
As Houston’s sixth city (it was part of the Seattle Supersonics team, which settled in Oklahoma City), Durant and Kleiman said that each of them offered different opportunities, but that this decision is not at the center of the decision -making process.
“We weren’t sitting there in June in Houston, which job for us, Miami, which job for us.” He said.
Instead, Kleiman said that the two focused on establishing relationships that can get rid of shifts with professional sports. “I have value to get to know inside me [Houston Rockets owner] Tilman [Fertitta] And patrick [Fertitta] And see what these relationships can be, just like I have a relationship [Brooklyn Nets owner] Joe Tsai and [Golden State Warriors owner] Joe Lacob. “
Kleiman said that Durant’s approach to emergence and delivery turned into a business world, and that the couple had something that he took into account when he met with companies and people in the Gulf Region during his time with warriors and continued to do.
“What Kevin can do is to show that there is a different plan where you can take, that you can be less and that your game can talk for him.” He said.
What’s next, he said he aims to play at Durant 2028 Olympics, but “he didn’t want the newspaper’s gift, sit at the end of the counter and fifth [gold medal]. “
Can this next NBA include team ownership? Durant, who already had MLS’s Philadelphia Union and a Pickleball team, said that the answer was “of course”, but the rising values made it “easier to do so”.
However, Kleiman said how Durant’s approach to relations and partnerships throughout his career would lend well to the ownership of the NBA.
“Since private capital diversified these valve tables, some of these billionaires purchasing the team and the values are very high, you need to bring added value and strategic value to these organizations, and to bring expertise and income ability in many ways.” He said. “If you are trying to set up a team, you will not be much better than having someone like Kevin if you are talking about building a brand and understanding the community.”
