Parliament Budget Session LIVE: Lok Sabha takes up Question Hour

Chemicals and Fertilizers Minister JP Nadda said India has sufficient reserves to provide fertilizer to farmers and there is no need to panic.
Replying to a supplementary question in the Lok Sabha on what steps the government has taken to ensure availability amid the ongoing West Asian war, Mr. Nadda said he spoke to State Agriculture Ministers on Thursday and informed them about the availability of fertilisers.
“I want to reassure the citizens of the country that the government has taken the necessary steps to ensure that fertilizer is delivered to farmers when needed. We have sufficient reserves. There is no need to panic,” the minister said.
To a follow-up question from Congressman Manish Tewari on whether the government is looking for newer markets for fertilizer imports, Mr. Nadda said there are sufficient reserves for the kharif season.
