South Central Railway (SCR) has prepared a comprehensive plan to manage the festival season at the Secunderabad Station, including the creation of passenger retention areas on the 1st and 10th platforms, outside the ticketing zone for passengers to wait until the trains arrive.

The Premier Station typically sees about 1.3 lakh passengers a day, which rises to two lakh in festive periods. Considering the ongoing redevelopment and additional train services, a series of measures will be applied starting from the last week of September.

In order to facilitate blockage in platforms and foot excess money (FOBS), the platform with 1,500 passenger combined capacity is 1 – 2 and Gate No. Two retention areas will be installed at 5. In the platform 10, a holding area at the door 8 will accommodate up to 1,125 passengers. Passengers are recommended to follow signs and announcements for navigation without any problems. A new entrance/ output is being built from the Platform 1 to the SECUNDERBERBAD (West) Metro Station.

Passengers traveling by car/ taxi are encouraged to use the wider platform 10, which offers a better connection through elevators and ways of approach, unlike limited collection/ release bays and a more popular platform 1. A new Bodrum Park Plant for 200 cars is currently working on the platform 10, and the previously implemented 12 -minute entrance/output crossing door is no longer valid.

When the passenger flow exceeds 10,000 per hour, the switch fob landing will be made at heavy hours (4 to 09: 00-18: 00-11: 00 in the morning). Additional aid tables, automatic ticket vending and staff will be deployed to help passengers.

Some trains can be directed through additional stops in Cherlapalli through the Sanathnagar-Ammuguda-Maula Ali-Charlapalli section. Passengers can download Railone application for real -time train running information, platform details, ticket reservation, food order and complaint.

The SCR also coordinates the government with government railway police, city police and Road Transport Corporation. 24×7 control room will be installed for continuous monitoring. SCR Chief Pro A. Sridhar said these measures will be in force during Dussehra, Diwali and Chhahath Puja festivals.
