UPSC finalises panel of three officers fit for appointment as T.N. DGP

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) concluded a panel consisting of three IPS officers in accordance with the appointment of Tamil Nadu Police Police General Manager/Police Force Director.

The first three DGPs under the command of the seniority are Seema Agrawal, Rajeev Kumar and Sandeep Rai Rathore. Other officers K. Vannierumal, Maesh Kumar Aggarwal, G. Venkatraman (currently responsible DGP/Hopf), Vinit Dev Wankhede and Sanjay Matur.

In the lower case, Madurai -based defender Henri Tiphagne said that the Supreme Court’s 2018 decision required a state to send an offer to the DGP post with a gap.

However, the state did not send such an offer to the UPSC within the time zone for the Empanelment, and also violated the APEX Court’s decision and appointed it as DGP/Hopf responsible.
