Pay more for IPL matches; movie tickets under ₹100 get cheaper

The GST Council reviewed the tax rates on entertainment and sports activities tickets, while providing relief for low -valuable cinema tickets, while the election framework such as Indian Premier League (IPL) increased taxes on its properties.

Entry to sports events, including IPL matches, will now attract 40% with entrance tax loan (ITC) before 28%. The hike is expected to increase cost globally for popular league fans, which attracts the stadiums to the audience every season.

Cheaper tickets will benefit from a segment. LA 100 will attract 5% GST to the films that are priced up to 100. The tickets that are priced over La 100 will continue to attract 18% GST with ITC, and there was no change at this rate.
Before the meeting, the Indian Multiplex Association (MAI) government called on cinema tickets that were priced up to 300 under 5% of the plate, and the movement would make the films more affordable and encourage participants to expand the screen infrastructure in smaller towns and cities.
