Footballer announces he is expecting a baby… and the mother is his manager’s DAUGHTER!

Sheffield United star Oliver Arblaster is set to become a father and his mother is his manager Chris Wilder’s daughter.

Martha Elizabeth Wilder took to Instagram on Sunday night to share her exciting news, baby scans and loving selfies with Blades midfielder Arblaster, 22, in a series of polaroid photos where she proudly showed off her growing baby bump.

She captioned the post ‘+1’ alongside a white heart emoji, prompting a flood of heartwarming comments in support.

It is unclear how long the young couple have been together and Blades boss Wilder has yet to comment publicly on the relationship.

While United teammates Femi Seriki and Louie Marsh congratulated the duo, Arblaster’s mother revealed the gender of her grandson.

‘He’s going to be the most loved amazing child – I can’t wait to be his Nanny.’

Arblaster, who graduated from the academy in recent seasons, is one of the club’s most promising young players.

The 22-year-old made his Premier League debut in the 2023/24 season and has become a regular first-team player, making 18 appearances this season.

His campaign got off to a slow start due to his recovery from a long-term anterior cruciate ligament injury, and he has been limited to substitute appearances since the start of the year.

Wilder is a Sheffield United legend who took the club from the third division to the Premier League.

The Blades will not repeat that success this season as they sit 17th in the second tier and 14 points off the play-off places.
