Pedestrian struck and killed on highway west of Brisbane
A woman who was walking on a highway west of Brisbane has died after being struck by a uterus.
The 30-year-old was hit by a Ford Ranger near the BP service station on the Warrego Highway at Haigslea, west of Brisbane, just before 7.45pm on Friday.
The 50-year-old male driver of the Ranger was uninjured and tested negative for drugs and alcohol.
Medics also evaluated a woman in her 40s and a teenager who was a passenger in the womb, but neither were taken to hospital.
The road, which was closed in both directions for several hours, was later reopened.
The Forensic Crash Unit is continuing to investigate and has appealed for anyone with any comments regarding the incident to get in touch.
