Pentagon Says US Strikes Degraded Iran’s Nuclear Program, Setting It Back By 2 Years | World News

Pentagon said on Wednesday that the attacks on the US nuclear facilities in the US nuclear facilities broke the nuclear program of Tehran and brought back at least two years.

“We broke the programs for at least one to two years,” Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell. He said. “We probably think closer to two years.”

The statement comes after the US attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities in the 12 -day conflict between the US and Israel. The operation included more than 125 US aircraft – B -2, including hidden bombers, fighter aircraft and air tankers. In parallel, the US guided missile submarine fired Tomahawk Cruise missiles at a third facility. According to Parnell, “These facilities have been completely destroyed.”

However, skepticism continues. Rafael Grossi, President of the International Atomic Energy Agency of the UN at the weekend, warned that Iran can continue to produce enriched uranium in months. Nuclear experts estimated that Iran may have removed some of the highly enriched uraniums from the Fordow region before strikes. US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said there was no intelligence confirming it.

Although Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi insisted on “Technology and Know-how is still there”, he seriously damaged the Fordow facility.

On June 13, Israel launched preventive strikes against Iran nuclear areas and said that Tehran reached a “return point” in his search for nuclear weapons. According to Israeli defense officials, Iran has developed the capacity to rapidly enrich uranium and bring nuclear bombs together, and with sufficient fisil material for 15 weapons.

Israeli intelligence also introduced a secret program to complete all components of a nuclear device. The strikes pointed out a dramatic rise in what the authorities define as a wider Iranian strategy that combines the nuclear development, missile proliferation and the deputy war aimed at the destruction of Israel.

A US ceasefire entered into force on June 24th. In a 12 -day fight, Iran’s missile strikes killed 28 Israelis and injured more than 3,000.
