Perez Hilton says he encountered God during sepsis hospitalization

Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton shares his faith journey after revealing he found God during a recent life-threatening medical experience.

on March 23Hilton announced that he had been hospitalized for three weeks due to severe sepsis and infections. In a candid video, she said God “presented himself to me” during the ordeal and changed her through the experience.

“God presented himself to me and then he did something. Something that I can only call miraculous… it was real and it was life changing,” he said.

On Thursday, the entertainment columnist published another post tearful video He shared on social media that he apologized for his past mistakes and started reading the Bible again.

“I was crying, but happy tears. Happy tears. Because it’s so, so crazy. I was reading the Bible and I was already thinking about a lot of what was said in it. It’s so overwhelming in the best, most beautiful way,” she said, holding a Bible up to the camera.

Hilton said what he read in the Scriptures reflected changes he had already begun to make in his personal life and expressed regret for what he described as “selfish” behavior in the past.

“I’ve made a lot of mistakes in the past. We all have. Nobody is perfect,” he said. “But my mistakes are very public. The internet will last forever. The quotes will last forever. I carry deep shame and regret. I am sorry. I will continue to apologize. I have also reached out to make amends. I have publicly and privately apologized to dozens of people.”

“Because I was so selfish, because I didn’t care who I hurt. I only cared about opinions, attention, and money; people hated me,” he continued. “Some people enjoyed it, but it felt like most people hated me. Since I came home last week, I don’t get as much hate, I get love and prayers.”

Hilton acknowledged the backlash she has received over the years for her online reporting, saying some people still “want to see me suffer,” but added that she believes God loves and forgives her.

“And I know some people are tired of me talking about God. You don’t need to watch these videos. You don’t need to watch them. I love God. My experience was real. My testimony is important,” she said.

Hilton vowed to be a better person in the future.

“What matters is how I behave today, how I behave tomorrow,” he continued. “And not only did God save me in so many ways, but God gave me a new lease of life and a new opportunity to really be better and do better.”

“Praying faithfully for you Perez,” Candace Cameron Bure wrote, adding praying hands and heart emojis.

“Praise the Lord! Praying for you,” singer Kaya Jones wrote.

In her first video about the hospitalization, Hilton said she was raised Catholic but had never been a believer until now. She also said she was “excited” to start taking her children to church.

He has since posted several videos thanking God and talking about the spiritual transformation he experienced as he continues to recover from his hospital stay.
