Perth hills bushfire downgraded to watch and act
A bushfire threatening lives and homes in the Perth hills has been reduced as firefighters say the blaze is under control.
The fire was reported just before 5pm on Friday and residents were told to leave the area as it was a threat to life and homes.

The emergency threatened parts of Boya, Darlington, Greenmount, Helena Valley and Hovea in the Shire of Mundaring.
“Stay alert and monitor your surroundings as conditions may change,” they said.
A ‘watch and act’ warning has also been put in place for people in the area bounded by Clayton Road, Scott Street, Great Eastern Highway, Lionel Road and Glen Road, with authorities advising there is a possible threat to lives and homes as the fire burns and conditions change in the area.
“If you are having trouble moving quickly, leaving immediately is your safest option,” the message read.
An evacuation center has been opened at Brown Park Community Center in Swan View.
