Peter Mandelson released from bail conditions | UK news

Peter Mandelson was released from bail conditions after police determined he was not a flight risk, the Guardian understands.
Sources say the Metropolitan police have decided to withdraw the conditions they imposed after arresting him last month on suspicion of misconduct in public office, but the investigation is ongoing.
Mandelson was arrested at his London home in late February as part of an investigation into whether he leaked Downing Street emails and market-sensitive information to financier and child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Mandelson has denied any wrongdoing.
The former cabinet minister said he was told by officers during questioning that House of Commons speaker Lindsay Hoyle had been arrested following a tip that she was planning to flee to the British Virgin Islands.
The Met is understood to have believed it was the right decision to arrest the man but apologized to Hoyle for revealing his name.
A Met spokesman said: “A 72-year-old man arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office has been released under investigation. The investigation is ongoing.”
