Petite, Fortitude Valley – BT Good Food app listing
French bistro from the Happy Boy and Snack Man team.
A fifth permanent location for brothers Cameron and Jordan Votan has been a long time coming, but it’s been worth the wait. Petite maintains the open feel of the brothers’ popular Happy Boy and Snack Man restaurants but with a more delicate design.
Its leather banquette references a French bistro with imported vintage chandeliers and wooden chairs, but gives it an industrial twist. Wines by the glass or bottle encourage those eager to explore the restaurant’s collection of small-grower French wines, which includes a large selection of cremantes and champagnes.
For smaller plates, you can order goat cheese croquettes, confit-wrapped steak tartare, and mini beef burgers with pommes gaufrettes and grilled gruyere. Larger plates include pan-fried gnocchi with comte cream, pan-fried fish slathered with tartare beurre blanc, charbroiled wagyu or grass-fed eye fillet with ravioli and frites stuffed with duck and confit duck in porcini jus, and a choice of peppery cognac sauce, mustard, cafe de paris butter or salsa verde.
