Petrol, Diesel price today (April 3): As global oil prices jump, check latest fuel rates in Delhi, Mumbai and other cities

Petrol and diesel prices in India’s major cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai remained stable today amid the ongoing West Asian crisis. Despite the rising tensions in the Middle East on Friday, fuel prices remained unchanged, and as the US attacks on Iran intensified, oil prices also rose. Brent crude oil rose 7.8% to $109.03 per barrel, raising serious concerns. State-run oil marketing companies, including Indian Oil Corporation Ltd and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd, increased the price of industrial diesel by Rs 28.22 per litre, up 25% to Rs 137.81.

Gasoline, Diesel prices April 3

In Delhi, petrol costs Rs 94.77 per liter and diesel costs Rs 87.67 per liter. Prices are relatively higher in Mumbai, the financial capital of India; Here, petrol is sold at Rs 103.50 per liter and diesel at around Rs 90.01 per litre. The government said state-run oil marketing companies (OMCs) are facing a steep recovery of ₹24.40 per liter on petrol and ₹104.99 per liter on diesel at current retail prices.

Pakistan increased fuel prices

The Pakistani government on Thursday greatly increased fuel prices in response to the rise in global energy prices caused by the Iran war, the country’s oil minister said at a press conference. The new prices indicate an increase of 42.7 percent for gasoline and 54.9 percent for diesel.
Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik said, “The decision taken today is that, according to international markets, after the increase in gasoline prices, the new price will be 458.40 rupees ($1.64 per liter) effective from tomorrow (Friday).”
