Petronet LNG Q3 FY26: Net profit rises 5% on higher capacity utilization | Company Results

Petronet LNG Ltd, India’s largest importer of liquefied natural gas, on Thursday reported a 5 per cent rise in net profit in the December quarter as utilization at its Kochi terminal rose to an all-time high.

Net profit of 848 billion rupees in October-December 2025 (third quarter of the current fiscal year 2025-26) compared to earnings of 806 billion rupees in the same period in the previous year, a company statement said.

The company, which operates two facilities at Dahej in Gujarat and Kochi in Kerala to import natural gas in liquid form (LNG), saw its total throughput increase by 2 per cent to 228 trillion British thermal units.

“Capacity utilization of Dahej terminal (17.5 million tonnes per annum) increased to 94 percent in the current quarter from 92 percent in the previous quarter and 93 percent in the corresponding quarter.” he said. “The Kochi terminal (5 million tonnes per annum) achieved its highest ever capacity utilization of 29 per cent this quarter.

Kochi operations were restricted due to the lack of pipelines to evacuate gas to consumers.

In the nine months ended December 31, 2025, the Dahej terminal processed 632 TBTU of LNG volume as against 686 TBTU in the nine months ended December 31, 2024.

The company’s total LNG volume processed in the current nine months was 682 TBTU, while the LNG volume processed in the relevant nine months was 729 TBTU.

However, net profit fell to ₹2,505 crore in April-December 2025 compared to ₹2,856 crore in the corresponding nine months.

“The strong financial performance in the current quarter was achieved thanks to efficiency in operations and higher capacity utilization,” the company said in its statement.
